What is winter season?
After marching season has been completed and we transition completely into concert band, the extracurricular and educational opportunity and experience does not stop there. There is an indoor percussion ensemble and an indoor color guard team. Also known casually as Winter Percussion and Winter Guard, these are opportunities to join and be a part of a more theatrical and innovative version of your normal musical and artistic experience, enhancing your musical journey.
Winter percussionUsing snare drums, tenors, bass drums, cymbals, xylophones, marimbas, vibraphones,
tambourines, chimes, timpani, drum kits, and other similar instruments, you create amazing symphonies that include dramatical effects combining drama with music for an amazing experience. Electronic instruments such as guitars, bass guitars, theremins, and synthesizers are also utilised. If you want to learn how to play these instruments (or already know how), then you should definitely join winter percussion. |

winter guardWinter guard incorporates normal color guard things with dance, creativity, and beauty. Using flags, sabres, rifles, and incorporating dance and concept, winter guard is vigorous, innovative, artistic, and difficult thing to be a part of. Tossing, dancing, and adding mystique is key, and it is very much about precision. It would be essential to have people of color guard and/or dance background, but essentially anyone can join!
